The "Dukkan" project aims to empower 90 young women, aged between 18 and 32, from both displaced and host communities by creating an integrated entrepreneurial environment. The project will enable participants to develop 21 innovative entrepreneurial ventures that address local economic and social challenges—particularly those faced by displaced communities—across three key areas: technology, media, and climate change.

Building a sustainable and supportive ecosystem for women’s entrepreneurship

By providing intensive training, specialized mentorship, and incubation support — in addition to access to financial resources and technical assistance — the “Dukkan” project aims to build a sustainable and supportive ecosystem for women’s entrepreneurship in Taiz.

The initiative seeks to equip women with the skills and resources needed to become successful business owners capable of achieving economic independence. This, in turn, contributes significantly to reducing female unemployment and strengthening their vital role in economic and social development and peacebuilding within their communities.

Please review the eligibility criteria to ensure your team qualifies, as these requirements help maximize the project’s impact and sustainability.

Young woman aged between 18-32 years.
Resident in Taiz city.
Application as a single team, with no more than 3 members.
Priority acceptance for teams with a higher percentage of displaced women.
Applicants must have a clear vision for establishing an innovative company with economic and social impact.
The company must provide innovative solutions with positive effects on Yemeni society and economy.
The team must commit to full-time participation in all phases of the Dukan project.
The project must align with community and environmental goals, and add value beyond profitability.
Realistic financial projections must be provided, including revenues, expenses, and cash flow sustainability.

Technology Path

The Technology path aims to equip young women with the basic and advanced technological skills necessary to develop and launch technology-based entrepreneurial projects. This lab combines elements of an intensive programming bootcamp with entrepreneurship and business management training to promote the creation of innovative technological solutions.

The Media path focuses on empowering young women with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the digital media landscape. This lab combines training in new media techniques, digital communication strategies, and marketing with entrepreneurship and business management training to enable participants to create and manage successful media projects.

Expected Results

Climate Change Path

The Climate Change path is designed to train young women to develop and implement innovative, technology-based solutions to address climate change challenges. This lab integrates climate science education with technological training and entrepreneurship development to promote the creation of sustainable and impactful climate projects.

Expected Results
